Windmöller & Hölscher MATADOR 31 – Flat & Satchel Paper Bag Machine with W&H QMS 4-Colour In-line Flexo Printer – Year 1974
Complete line for flat and side-gusseted (satchel) paper bags. Built by Windmöller & Hölscher (Germany) in 1974. It was used to make kraft paper bread bags for bakeries and supermarkets.
The bag machine and the printing press are still connected and can still run. They can be demonstrated under power on request.
LINE CONFIGURATION  1. Unwind stand - Single reel unwind on shaft - Pneumatic disc brake for web tension control - Pneumatic cylinders for reel handling
2. W&H QMS 4-colour in-line flexographic printing press - Stack-type design with 4 print decks (2 on each side) - When the machine stops, the printing cylinders lift automatically and the press keeps turning slowly - Central gear drive, with a handwheel for manual inching - Overhead web-guiding frame that carries the printed web to the bag machine
3. MATADOR 31 bag making machine - Web infeed with web guiding and alignment - Tube forming station: forming plate, adjustable side-gusset formers and longitudinal seam gluing - Cut-off and bottom folding / gluing section - Hinged protective hood with gas struts - Bag delivery with digital bag counter - Operator panel with push-button controls and emergency stop
FORMAT PARTS INCLUDED
- Forming plates for bag widths of 120, 140, 180 and 230 mm
- Printing format cylinders with circumferences of 270, 310, 350, 410 and 480 mm, with matching gears TECHNICAL DATA
- Printing cylinder circumference: approx. 270 – 630 mm
- Bag width range (model spec): approx. 50 – 310 mm
- Cut-off length (model spec): approx. 120 – 650 mm - Side gusset (model spec): up to approx. 80 mm - Speed (model spec): up to approx. 600 bags/min, depending on format
- Window bags: not possible (no window unit) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Condition: used, in running condition. No recent overhaul
